"Shell Aviation presence at Dubai 2003, the 8th International Aerospace Exhibition, was a resounding success. Shell took a stand at the Air Show's Exhibition and had a corporate hospitality chalet for our customers," reports Mike Lumley, Shell Aviation's General Manager for the Middle East, Central and South Asia. "The event coincided with Shell Aviation's Global Leadership Meeting in Dubai and gave the Leadership Team an opportunity to interact with a wide group of Shell Aviation's customers as well as local and regional staff.

Shell's new regional Gas & Power office opened for business in Dubai in February, and is led by Charles Watson, Shell Gas & Power's Director for the Middle East, North East Africa and South Asia. He spoke to 'Al Mahara': "The recent signings of a Heads of Agreement between Shell and Qatar Petroleum to construct the world's largest Gas to Liquids [GTL] plant in Qatar, and Shell's 40 per cent share in the joint venture with the Government of Saudi Arabia to explore for gas in the Kingdom's Rub Al Khali [Empty Quarter] emphasise the importance of both gas and the Middle East in Shell's portfolio.
