In line with Shell's global drive for Diversity & Inclusiveness (D&I), and during Shell Oil Products East's (SOPE's) 'Diversity & Inclusiveness Week 2003', Shell Dubai celebrated its own D&I day in September at the Crowne Plaza Hotel. During the day, Iain Everingham, Shell Country Chairman for Dubai and the N. Emirates, explained, "Shell Dubai's activities today are part of a regional programme, initiated by SOPE, to create awareness and promote diversity and in particular inclusiveness across Shell businesses.

Shell Dubai held a press conference in November to announce the launch of a 'Corporate Social Responsibility' conference, to be held under the patronage of H. H. General Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and UAE Defense Minister, and in partnership with Dubai Development and Investment Authority (DDI).
