Sir Mark Moody-Stuart, Chairman of the Royal Dutch/Shell Group's Committee of Managing Directors, visited Abu Dhabi in October. Whilst in the Emirate, he met with His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces. Sir Mark also met staff of the newly named 'Shell Abu Dhabi' and visited the Shell stand at ADIPEC.

Shell's stand at the Abu Dhabi International Petroleum Exhibition & Conference (ADIPEC) in October was hailed by the organisers as being the 'Best Stand' at the Exhibition. It focused on Shell's innovative technology for the E & P industry. Shell technology was also represented on the stand by a Formula One Ferrari, which proved to be a crowd-puller. In addition, the ADIPEC stand featured displays on Shell Global Solutions and Shell Renewables, and was manned by senior representatives of Shell's E & P, Gas and Power and Renewables businesses.
