Based on the Work/Life Balance Charter, Shell Dubai's Social Committee was formed earlier this year to organise social events. The Committee consists of staff members who volunteered to take on the challenge, namely Philip Varkey, Colleen Misquitta, Leena Chandran, Mohiddin Ruknaddin, Krishnan, Arun Joseph and Haya Shahin.

The Committee kicked off with a major event, the Staff Annual Party, held earlier this year on 8th February. With the Nad Al Sheba Club as the venue, the day lived up to expectations and was packed with games and competitions, a golf clinic, pony and camel rides, face painting, henna, bingo, a raffle draw that included as prizes air tickets and dinner vouchers, all of which was followed by a sumptuous meal.

The Committee then went on to organise the well-attended bowling event at Thunderbowl in May.

Spurred on by the success of the first half of this year, the Social Committee members are determined to add more zest to the lives of Shell staff and have some very interesting ideas planned for the autumn when everyone returns from their holidays. Just watch this space!
