 COMINGS & GOINGS

Quentin D'Silva joined Shell Dubai on 1st July as the new Commercial Sales Manager for the MESA (Middle East and South Asia) Cluster.

Quentin D'Silva"My last position was that of Commercial Sales Manager for Shell Oil Products in Pakistan. This move to Dubai as Commercial Sales Manager for MESA is a major step in my career and I am really looking forward to the challenge of managing a much larger geographical territory, which, of course, will include my old area of Pakistan. The new territory is not just larger in terms of size but has an enormous cultural diversity which I will find very interesting.

"From the business point of view, things are looking good in the MESA Cluster and progress this year is ahead of plan. So the settling in from the business point of view will be relatively easy, thanks to Tony Devine.

"My family, namely my wife, son of nine and daughter of five, will be joining me shortly and they are also very excited about the move.

"So overall I am looking forward to it very much indeed," he concludes.

Angelo MuratoreAngelo Muratore, joined Shell's MESA Cluster as Lubricants Supply Chain Manager, as of 1st June this year.

"Before coming to the Middle East to work for Shell Markets [Middle East] Ltd, I was working as the Facilities Planning & Strategy Manager for Distribution, Oceania, with Shell Australia.

"I was based in Melbourne, where I worked for two and half years. I am an Australian by birth and was born in Sydney, and I have been working for Shell for the last 14 years.

"This is my first posting to the Middle East but I have had an overseas posting before when I went to work for Shell in Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia, where I was based for four years.

"I enjoyed working in Malaysia very much. The people are very friendly and it is a nice place to both live and work.

"My wife and two children, one boy of six and a girl of five, are all looking forward to coming to live in Dubai and to getting to know the UAE and the Middle East.

"The job of Supply Chain Manager in this region is very interesting and challenging as it covers such a diverse range of countries and cultures, and I look forward to getting to know them all."

John SalmonJohn Salmon joined Shell International Trading Middle East Ltd (SITME) in May of this year as a Gasolene Products Trader.

'I have been with Shell for 24 years and started out as a navigator, working in Shell's fleet offshore.

"Since, then, I have worked in various departments within Shell, including Marine, Supply and Distribution, and now Trading.

"I think Dubai is a great place to be. It's very busy and I particularly like the fact that it has a lot of energy, so I am really looking forward to my time here."

Tony Devine, Commercial Sales Manager for the MESA (Middle East and South Asia) Cluster left Dubai on 1st July to take up a short-term appointment associated with Shell's global Lubricants reorganisation.

Tony Devine"After my short assignment I will be retiring from the Shell Group after 31 years of service," says Tony. "My wife and I have had a great time with Shell and also here in Dubai. My family, who have frequently visited us to escape the cold, dark weather in the United Kingdom, have also grown to love Dubai.

"On a professional basis, I have spent six years in the Middle East and South Asia, the last three years being with the Commercial business of MESA as part of the East Zone. I have thoroughly enjoyed working with Iain Everingham and many others in various operating units and joint ventures to forge a new Commercial business in the Middle East and South Asia, which has been seen by the Shell Oil Products business organisation as a very successful enterprise.

"I have had the unique opportunity of taking the best practice of doing business in the Shell Group and elsewhere and bringing it together as a new entity with a new team here across MESA. "I leave Dubai with fond memories of friendship and a big commitment by all the staff in MESA Commercial to deliver a first-class business.

"I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for their support and offer my very best wishes to everyone for a healthy and successful future."

Keith Lewis RangerKeith Lewis Ranger joined Shell International Trading Middle East Ltd [SITME] as a Freight Trader in May, coming from STASCO (Shell Trading and Shipping Company Ltd) in London.

"I have been in Shell for 26 years now and I have spent most of the time with STASCO in various trading functions. This is my first time in the Middle East and it is very exciting.

"My family will be joining me shortly, which will make things much more enjoyable."

Tom SanchezTom Sanchez, Products Trader with Shell International Trading Middle East Ltd [SITME], is leaving Dubai after two years "and it seems like I arrived only yesterday," he says.

"My new job is in Singapore as Middle Distillates Trader with SIETCo and whilst I have enjoyed my time in Dubai very much, especially the rugby, I am also looking forward to a new life, and the changes and challenges that Singapore will bring."
